this WAS my buddy's tractor... Not sure why he left the key in it.  The
other tractor mentioned is his Farmall 1466, which is  known for jamming
between gears.  Probably better that it did too, as the burned one was only
2 years old, and has been replaced already via insurance.

This has been happening since the invention of mechanical corn pickers. 
  I would never expect this to happen this day and age.  What a shame.
