Roberto The lever on the left when you sitting on tractor is the T/A.
Always keep it foreward position, unless under a load. If you have it pulled
back and go downhill it will ruin the T/A. It is mechanical, has its own
clutch and pressure plate and a sun gear. They are great for pulling back
when the going gets tough, just remember to slip it back foreward when the
load gets lighter. If you have to pull start tractor MAKE SURE the T/A is in
the forward position. I have seen so many T/A units ruined by either kids
running them or someone that just dont know any better. I am proud that you
found a tractor like this in your area, they are fairly rare here unless
your wallet is fat ! You will need a manual for this one as they are a bit
different. If you are going to tow this home make sure the T/A is in the
forward position also. There are others on the list that can tell you more.
Around here some people will bolt the MD frontend onto a 560 rear and sell
them as SMTAD tractors.
Take care
Kevin Mosier
