There are a lot of Amish in the Lancaster PA area who use tractors with
steel wheels. There are even local fabricators who build steel wheels
for new farm tractors, lawn tractors, and even golf carts. Sometimes you
will see ads for very old tractors with brand new tires - that is
usually because the wheels/tires were removed and stored in the barn
while the tractor was used on steel. When the tractor is sold, the new
original rubber is put back on.
