There is a place in Indianapolis called Van's Electric. They probably have
a website. They rebuilt the generator on my Father's '45 H.

Why not have it rebuilt by the starter place?

I have a F20 with electric start. The starter just recently quit and only
hums when you try it. I took it to a starter place and they stated the
armature is burned out.

Does anyone know where I can get a starter? I assume it is a Heisler kit,
the starter was made by Westinghouse. Was this a unique starter, or did
they use one off something else? I can't seem to find much information
about it.

Thanks,

Ross

They say it isn't fixable! Are there places that can rewind the armature?

I'm sure there are. I have gotten rewound aramatures for cub cadet
starter/generators. try doing a web search for "armature winding" or
"rewound armatures" or "starter rebuilding".
