[AT] bad condensor?

In my limited experience, I have noticed that a system with a good coil and
good plug BUT bad condensor will jump a weak spark across a very narrow gap
but not a normal gap and certainly not under compression. If it has spark
but is very weak a condensor may help. Does this system have points?
