[AJD] Brought my R home today

I brought home a 1953 R today.  This is the first
of three that I bought recently.  I hope to have the
other two parts tractors home by the end of the month.
 

    The starting motor is off this tractor, 
apparently it's water jackets were plugged with rust
so it did not drain properly and cracked..  The Diesel
turns over, and when we towed it off the trailer with
the AW today it had good oil pressure and compression.
 I would have tried to start it but it has not water
it in.

    There is a repair to the left side of the rear
axle housing.  It has been brazed back together and
then had two metal bands placed around it.  This
tractor also came with a NOS axle housing,  it should
be quite a job to put that in.  Both of the parts
tractors have PTO's and Hydraulics,  so I will
probably try to swap a rear end off of one of those
instead of just switching housings..
 
     The pony has a pull starter on it as well as
electric.  I am told that is a 'rare' option,  but I
don't know enough about R's be sure about that.

     The pony came with a set of new rings and
gaskets,  It has been repaired but needs to be
re-assembled.
