[AT] Truck hitch questions

Wow,  thanks for all the reponses, and some people thought this list was dead :-).  I've tried using a wire brush but haven't been able to get it far enough into the receiver to make any difference.  Greese and other lubricants haven't helped either, I will have to try the 2x2 trick, what I'm afraid of it if I force it in, it may never come out again. My hitch is set up with a plate welded to the back of the receiver so I can't pound it out from the other side.



Here's another question, assuming I get it to work again, is there any way to keep it functional?  The hitch covers I have tried are all but useless in keeping the slush and salt out here in Michigan.
