John, I have an Allis Chalmers B that was burned in just such a fire. I
haven't restored it yet but I've torn it down enough to know what is
damaged. Mine was sitting just under the barn front end first. The tires
were burned off front and rear. The oil in the rear end and transmission
are not burned so I think those components are ok. The engine oil was still
in the base so the lower end of the engine might be ok. I haven't pulled it
apart yet. In the top end of the engine the babbitt bearings in the rocker
arm melted out. The valve train is ruined. I assume the head is probably
shot too. I'm not sure about the block. Of course the radiator was
completely ruined. Some of the sheet metal is ok. All that is warped up I
assume is probably beyond help.
I know that doesn't answer your question but it might give you some insight
for figuring out what damage you have. In the case of mine it seems that
the air rushing into the barn fire was pulling past the tractor such that
most of the damage was forward and upward. The lower and more rearward
parts seem to be salvageable.
