Hey Kevin

How ya feeling? Sounds like you're getting back to work at least a
little.

As to the starter; are you shorting across the big (battery & starter
posts) or the battery to small post that activates the solenoid? If the
small one to battery the wiring between the battery & switch & small
post must have a short to ground causing the current to go to ground
instead of the solenoid (and pegging the meter). Try pulling the small
wire off at the solenoid & see what happens. If it starts ok jumping
from battery to solenoid terminal then try to trace the wiring & find a
"rubbed spot", maybe a mouse ate the insulation, etc. Sounds like a
dead short to ground; ought to be pretty easy to see.

I have a question about our 560 Last year I took the starter to the
local
auto electric man.
And he FIXEd it for I think 50 bucks, what was wrong with it was he said

selenoid.
What it was doing is, some times when you push the starter button it
would
peg the ammeter to discharge. So the only way to start it would be to
cross
it out at the selenoid on the starter and it would hit right off. Well
it
has returned to its old ways and I cant afford to be 50 buckin it again
so
soon. Any ideas on just what is going on ? And how to fix it at home ?
Thanks
