Hi fellas, question from the back row here.....

What would be the value of a running Farmall F20, serial #78026? It's not in
too bad shape, mostly
rusted but you can still see the decals. Good rubber on the rear, but one of
the front wheels is
missing. The clutch is stuck open (not in gear). No leaks, does burn a
little oil. The seller is
asking $1200. Also, does anyone what year that serial number is?

Thanks,

	Hi John:

I would likely consider that about the most I would pay for one that was
not fairly well restored or at least in pretty good shape. I would at least
expect it to be ready to use for that price. They are a great old tractor,
very durable and light enough to haul without a big rig. I forget how many
of them they made, somewhere around 2 1/2 zillion I think. ;-) Like I
said they are a great tractor and I would like to have one but I will
probably have to pick up a non-runner to be able to afford it. All I need is
another project... I could park it between my non-running F-12 and my
non-running F-30... ;-) That's OK, this is "my year". The "never ending
move from hell" is now under control. I signed the contract to rent out my
grain land for the year and I have finally cleared several other hurdles so
that I can finally get into the shop (if I can find it). It has been quite a
while since I could look forward to a year like I am looking forward to this
one.
I also have a decent mechanic son-in-law that will be out of work for about
3 months this winter while his employer remodels. I may get "a lot" of stuff
done soon after all... ;-) This one is closer to my age than my
daughter's age and is easy to get along with. One of my grandsons is out of
work but he doesn't like getting dirty. That didn't come from my family
gene-pool. :) I can't hire him; I don't have any "clean" work to be
done... I do have another grown grandson that will do about anything that we
ask and doesn't mind a little dirt.

Advice to my descendants:
If you want to move up in the world the first step is up out of the gutter.
If you want to be considered trash speak and act like trash.
If you want to be considered a lady or a gentleman speak and act like a lady
or a gentleman.
If you would reach for the stars look to the heavens. Don't look for the
path to the stars in the sewers of this world.
