John & Mike thanks for the info.
I didn't know that 38s were ever stock on the 70.  I just assumed that the 
ones I saw with 38" tires had the same problem as mine.  I was hoping to 
cheat a little by finding a 38" rim that will fit the center for the 40" 
rim.  The actual cast center measures about 37".  thanks for the info about 
the oil filter and muffler as well.  Now to locate the right side grill 
screen and small side pannels.
