[AT] PTO pump on ebay

John, If anything John Deere engineers were smart and kept things simple.
The air came from the outside of course thru the piston inside the pump
body. There is a leather cup that goes around the piston and is sorta upside
down so that as the piston is on the compression stroke air is forced by the
check valve and out the hose. On the up stroke or intake the ball check
valve closes to retain what was pumped and the cylinder fills with "new" air
for the next compression. Two checks of sorts, the ball check and the
leather cup retaining plate.
As far a the pump on e-Bay, I think it's ok as the ball check is inside the
"pipe" fitting which really is the ball check body and a spud for the hose
to hook to.
Glad you got what you need. Regards, JG
