If it is an obstruction in the fuel system (in the tank or somewhere
before the carb) you can possibly check it by disconnecting the fuel line
at the carb and letting the gas run out into a bucket. Time the flow and
see if it stops or slows down around the two minute mark. Probably
wouldn't be a good idea to try this with a full tank unless you've got a
really big bucket.
Then, of course, you may not have an obstruction. Don't know how the tank
on the C is designed, but if the tank isn't being vented properly you may
be causing a vacuum in the tank which won't let the fuel flow after the
vacuum builds up over the two minutes. Once the engine stops because the
carb bowl is empty, air may be flowing back up to the tank through the
empty fuel line, breaking the vacuum and letting the fuel flow again. This
should be less of a problem when the tank is only partially filled since
it would take longer for the vacuum to build up. Have you tried running
with the gas cap off?
Also have you checked all the fuel lines to make sure there are no points
where a vacuum could develop in the lines. Seem to remember a friend
replacing a fuel line with a piece of hose that was way too long. Because
of the orientation of the fittings it was easier to put the long piece in
then wrestle with a short piece. Engine would run for a while and then
die. Found out that by pushing down on the loop he created, and holding it
down, the engine would run without stopping. Either a vacuum or air was
being trapped in the loop as the fuel flowed through the hose resulting in
the stoppage of fuel flow.
Good luck!
