>From about 1983 John Deere made an agreement to purchase the 650, 750, 850,
950 series exclusively from John Deere. Yanmar had to quit marketing there
own brand during this agreement. They eventually  made other smaller diesel
garden tractors for Deere, but have now ended the agreement. I have the
Yanmar equivalent of the 650 JD, it is a a very good tractor.
