Sounds like starving for fuel to me. Ignition either works or it doesn't. 
Coils that fail when hot normally last longer than 2 minutes and take a 
while to cool back down. I would check my fuel supply from the tank--it 
sounds like it just isn't getting enough or either the needle valve is 
sticking partially and not letting much into the bowl. I believe there is a 
strainer on the fitting that screws into the carb--maybe it is clogged. 
Although I doubt it, maybe the vent in the cap is stopped up. There should 
be a drain plug on the bottom of the carb. Open it and once the bowl has 
drained, see if you are getting as much through the carb as just the line.
