[AT] OT: Smith baby

Ed,

I am sure many adoptive parents of young children have pondered that
question but hoped they'd never have to answer it.

My daughter, who turned thirty-five last week, was eight months old when we
adopted her.  She was abandoned at birth (she was probably no more than a
few hours old) on the steps of an orphanage in Inchon.  God only knows who
her biological mother (undoubtly a Korean) and father (maybe a Korean or
just as likely an American military man) were.  The subject of her
birthing/natural parents has surfaced at most maybe a handful of times but
she has always been content to just look at me and say "but you are my daddy
and I love you and that's all that matters."

I hope a loving home finds this boy ... he deserves at least that.

I feel bad for the kid as well.  When he grows up, what will the
adoptive parents tell him???
