WVA does an annual visual, and will ultrasound or hydro if the inspector
deems it necessary. It cost me a new crown sheet last year, but the
Peerless boiler is now safe again. WVA inspection for hobby boilers is
free, but the permit to operate the boiler is $25. The permit is only
issued after passing inspection. My Stanley boiler is exempt.
