[AT] Old Timer Question

While most of us seem to suffer from CRS, the good news seems to be that it is at different times and to different degrees.  And on that note, I'll pose a question that some one might be able to answer for me.

I can remember a saying that by a certain day you should have half your hay and half your firewood left.  My question is...What was the day?
