[AT] Adding electric starter

Our 1938 CC Case was the last year before Case flambeau red (?) and electric and road gear, etc.
I  infrequently thought of adding an externally mounted electric starter next to the belt pulley andsecuring a ring gear to the belt pulley.   This would necessitate placing transmission in neutral and engaging clutch and then hitting the starter button.
Has anyone ever tried this, or aware of someone who has tried this?
