Had a great time at the HALF CENTURY of PROGRESS show at r
Rantoul, IL. yesterday. Just sprinkled a little just before noon. The
ground was a little sticky (we don't have that problem here in so.
In.). No one was plowing while we were there. I think they were
waiting on the corn pickers to clear some more land, as they were
lined up and ready. There was an 8020JD with a five bottom plow behind
it first in line, and behind it were about 25 or 30 rigs of various
makes and models. There was a Waterloo boy with I believe a #5 two
bottom plow that I would have liked to see work.
They were picking corn, elevating it into the crib, then shelling out
of the crib, and loading into a semi.
Looked like most machinery brands were represented by their clubs and
displays along the runway.
The swap meet hadn't grown much from last time, but was pretty good
although the only things I bought was a tee shirt and a muffler for my
toy 630 tractor.
