[AJD] Late Styled G Rear Wheel Removal

I had a similar problem last year getting the bull gear separated
from the axle on the final drive of a 430 JD. Two machine shops had
tried to get it off and both failed. I had one of them make me a
round slug about 4" long, hole in middle, and just smaller than the
axle. Drive was off the tractor and straddled across two saw horses.
In other words, the bull gear and the stub were facing upward. The
stub was bolted to the end of the axle to provide something to hit.

I had tried several hammers up to 16 pound sledge with no luck. I
fished around here and found about a 10' length of 3" plastic
conduit. Set that over the slug to act as a guide. Tied other end
to step ladder. Climbed up and dropped half a Farmall axle down the
tube. One drop was all it took. It was loose.
Red neck engineering but it worked!
