John,
I would think that compression pressure on a G, even one built to run on
Kerosene or "tractor fuel", would be at least 75 PSI per cylinder. A gasser
should be closer to 100 PSI.

Subject : [AT] John deere loader and tractor cyl. compression?

>Will a John Deere #40 loader fit on a JD B without serious
modification? ALSO, I need a rough idea on what the cylinder
compression should be on a JD model G tractor. Just checked one that
was 35 and 45 lbs. It does run but starts hard. John W.
