Good plan, here is my cell 916-652-9397, I work 8-5 but I might be in the area to show you my rust.  As you come up 80  through Sacramento, you'll see signs telling the road conditions over the summit and also signs for the AM radion station that also reports what the current conditions are.

Thank you Frank. I think we will travel I-5 to Sacramento then I-80 to Reno 
if the weather is OK.
