[Farmall] Gear case oil: If a little is good, a lot is better?

Quoted capacities aren't always accurate, but not usually that far off. 
Does it look clean or milky?  Maybe a lot of water that has accumulated and 
mixed in.  Or maybe PO didn't know how much was enough.
