[Farmall] Some ads from the 9/23 Lancaster Farming

I have never had any problem with mine, other than trying to split some
elm - the damn stuff just wouldn't split and got hung up on the screw. I
have never found any situation that was dangerous with it, but I treat
it with the same kind of respect I have for chain saws and other similar
potentially dangerous machines. I run the tractor at the lowest speed,
so that if it gets really jammed up, the engine just stalls. I make sure
I have firm footing, no kids around, and work for only a couple of hours
at a time and take breaks.

If you are doing things right, you pick up a piece to split, hold it by
the ends, push the middle of the piece gently onto the screw, and let go
so the splitter can do its "thing".

It won't do very little pieces, and it won't split very big pieces (over
say 18" in diameter), but I don't run into that kind of thing, or I
split them with wedges and a maul.
