	Yep, lots of violent head-on collisions... A zillion more close calls. 
I only recall one such road close 
enough to me that we ever used it. It ran from about Indy to Muncie Indiana. 
When they did away with it as a three lane they just put a stripe down the
 center and had two wide lanes. Trouble was people still tried to drive it 
like three. Now they are building a lot of 3 lane road sections again but 
now they are left turn only. They seem to be working pretty well.
