Neither IH nor any of its successors ever used a seat with any wood. All 
of the Cub Cadets came with a typical (for garden tractors) padded metal 
pan seat attached to a sheet metal support. On the 123, it is on a 
hinged plate, allowing the seat to swing up and partially over the 
steering wheel. You can go by my image

123 is 100% "original" (even the tires, unfortunately).
