I really like the relative simplicity of my 1981 VW Rabbit Pickup 
diesel.  At one time, before I destroyed my knees, I could swap engines 
and transmissions in those in just over 3 hours.  Once the CV axles were 
pulled (the hardest part, by far) three motor /trans mounts, 4 
electrical connections, and hoses, and lift the body right off the engine.
