I am a little concerned about what the chemicals will do to the babbitt.  I 
am surprised that you have babbitt worth saving.  I would think that pouring 
new bearings will part of your overhaul.  Unless the existing bearings are 
tight and in excellent condition I would plan on pouring new ones.
