Is this a common practice to name your vehicles and tractors? My new sister
in law has named every car she's owned and we all think it's VERY weird.
I've never heard of such a thing until recently.

Let's see---my B-I-L has an old 88 S-10 pickup that came through my family
since new---it has been named "PATCHES" due to her appearance---junkyard
replacement bed doesn't quite match, etc.

My wife's 2002 Cavalier is some sort of gold color; the same B-I-L has named
it the (GOLD)"BRICK"---a name which my wife refuses to accept!

These things tend to just just evolve
