Ron---The copper may not be recommended as with propane  because of the
interior oxide flaking off.
 
I doubt that there would be a problem on the return line because of the good
filtration before the fuel gets back to the injector pump. You could also
use some low pressure hydraulic hose for the return line.
 
Others may have different ideas.

original line on this IH 275D is steel.
