I would recommend taking them to a machinist.  You might want to look at
your camshaft.  That is probably worn to.  You can have the cam reground.

Getting ready to reinstall the camshaft and took a real good look at the cam
followers. Several have indentations worn into the follower face and two
have slight rust pits.  Can these followers be refaced?  Can it be done with
emery paper or best left to a machinist?   Your advise would be appreciated
