You take the 1st and 4th numbers this would be 39 in your case subtract 3  
and you get 36 for the year built. 
My book says that they only built 99 CVs  for that year and a total of 190 
for all years. You have a very rare Case  tractor.
If you want to know more about when and where it was sold go to this  site 
and ask DCTom for help, give him the Model and  serial #  and ask  for the
info 
on the build card.
