I thought sticking valves also, but they are free as can be. I adjusted
them hot tonight and made sure each valve was very free, but after running
about a minute it start missing again.
It seems to be running correctly for a shorter and shorter time. The first
time it was probably 20 minutes, the last time tonight it was less than a
minute.
The only thing I haven't ruled out is the mag. I wish there was a good way
to test it.

Sounds like sticking valves to me. Dump some 2-cycle gas in it or add some
Marvel-Mystery oil to the gas. (I'd drain the tank first and only have about
a 1/2 gallon or so of the oily gas in there).
Come to think of it are the valves getting oil?
