[AT] Metal lathe question--Chuck size measurement

Most are the thread measurements of the spindle nose. I have a
southbend 13" with the 2 & 1/4 thread. Inside probably a Morse taper;
on a 13" I'd guess mt4 or mt5. BTW if anyone's interested it's for
sale; 3 jaw chuck, short bed, mounted on the iron pedestal stand, qc
gearbox, but it's 3ph. Very common motor tho; single phase motor will
bolt right up. Asking 1000; open to trades?

My old 13" South Bend lathe was made with either a 1 1/2" spindle or a 2
1/4" spindle. Where or what do you measure to get those dimensions?
