Merle, 
              This is a common misconception. The frame structure in no way 
will date the  tractor. I have a 1941-43 LA that has a hollow frame and I know 
of someone that  has a 1945 LA that has a hollow tube frame that has been in 
their family since  new. I thought the same thing as you until I did a little  
research.
