[Steam-engine] Valves seats

Yes John...people, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Valve all the way open....glass breaks, check balls will seat... I assume a 
small blow out/clean out would not let the ball seat..could be wrong here

Valve partially closed....little tit plunger on end of valve keeps ball from 
seating..NOT normal operation...probably good for big blow down/ clean out

Valve all the way closed....self explanatory.

I'll try to take some pix's to better explain.
