Will,

I average 14 mpg with my 1986 F-250 diesel, the 6.9.  I think if I put some 
radial tires on it that might improve since I've got some used military 
humvee bias ply tires on it now.  But I don't drive that many miles a year 
in it so I'm not too worried about it.
