Dear All,
I recently purchased a 1-B John Deere corn sheller. It is in very good
shape, except our high humidity has taken its toll on the paint. I
believe it to be an early one, and I plan to paint as such. According
to spreader works catalog #62-C 1/1944, these shellers began
producting in 1936. I don't have any color photos/brochures, but the
black and white brochures show the decals to be dark on lighter paint.
I am guessing green or red base paint, and red or black decals.
Does anyone have any information on this?
The later models with the QFE logo appear to be green with yellow
decals.
I have a very late model with origional paint that has the 1956 logo.
It also has made in USA, so I suspect it might have been made for
export. I doubt there was much call for them in the U S in 1956.
Thanks, Richard
