[Farmall] Farmall AV

I can say with certainty that the tractor was purchased by my father and his
brother in 43 in Lafayette, Louisiana. It definitely has the AV inside of a
circle on the hood and has hydraulics "touch control".

The tractor was used on a small by todays standards "40 acre" farm, we
planted corn, cotton, and sweet potatoes. Life was much simpler for some
reason<grin>.

The company it was bought from is long gone, but the building is still up
and housing a rubber hose outfit. I have fond memories of going to town for
parts. Back in the 60's we would make in to what we would call the city
only about once a month. So, it quite a treat to get in the car or truck
and leave the farm for a few hours.

Bobby,
Something does not jive.
According to IH records the first AV was serial number 48562. It was built
on
January 10th, 1941.
Tractor serial number 33711 would be a 1940.
All A tractor serial numbers from 501 to 200,001 having matchng serial
numbers and chasis serial numbers.
I wll be talking with Guy Fay in a few minutes and double check the facts.
Mike
