Hi Paul,
No blame to assign with this TRT, just another lesson learned. I
know that aluminum wire will certainly not hold as much as a steel
based wire. But, once the lever on a chain binder is pulled past the
resistance point and is parallel to the chain, there is little upward
pressure on it even when a strong force is exerted on the chain
restraining the tractor. I believe it was some unusual combination of
the bouncing of the rough road which contributed to this situation.
Had I not been on the Interstate I would probably have slowed down to
an even slower pace then I did which would have been helpful as well.
Up in Superior, WI this week visiting Beverly's family and I sure do
appreciate the northeast wind off of Lake Superior. Only 81 degrees
for a high temperature here on Sunday, while Sioux Falls reached 96
degrees!
Regards,
Art
