[Farmall] Converting to 12 v system on Cub

Both Maynard (Super-A) and Homer (Super-C) were restored with 6-volt systems
that operated flawlessly (Geoff's work not mine). The only hard part to
remember is that positive ground if you ever have to charge it externally.

Hey, I am thinking of doing the opposite. I got my dad's 1952 Super C back
after being out of the family 44 years. Previous owner had converted it to
alternator and 12 volts. I am thinking about converting it back. Anybody
want to part with a generator they are taking off a tractor to convert to 12
volt??
I have to do some reading/thinking to see what all I have to do to convert
it back. I think the generator bracket is still there.
Hey, if my Farmall 340 will start on 6 volt...after an engine overhaul..so
still pretty tight, I think the Super C should start. I did have battery
cables made from heavy duty welding cable for the Farmall 340. Made a big
difference.

I think in general if people put as much effort into fixing their 6-volt
systens as it takes to convert to 12-volts, they wouldn't need to convert.
Of course, it is easier to throw parts at a problem than to actually
diagnose a problem. Isn't that one of the most common complaints we see
posted about "professional" mechanics?
