A mower conditioner is what I wish I had for hay cutting as it really
speeds up the drying process compared to my swather. The conditioner has big
rubber rollers that squeeze the moisture out of the hay and it is ready to
bale in a very short time. My swather lays down 19 feet of green hay that
needs lots of sun and wind to dry it enough to bale safely. If necessary I
will turn the swath with the side delivery rake to facilitate drying but of
course that requires burning ever more expensive fuel so I will wait on the
sun and wind I think.
