[Farmall] Farmall 340 Not starting

Art, Yes, taking both in to get tested is probably the next step. I can
read the manuals but nothing beats 25 or more years of working with old
tractors. I started late and have few years to go to get to that mark. I
am learning from my mistakes, so I am moving along pretty fast (if I can
just remember how now to make the same mistake twice).

Thanks

Larry

    Hi Larry,

While my experiences have not necessarily been with a coil, one can
certainly purchase a new electrical item and find that it does not
function as it is designed to do. Would suggest you take both the old
and new coils to an electronics repair shop and have them checked
out. Our local shop in Sioux Falls is kind enough to do such checks
for free.
Purchasing new equipment which does not work is the bane of us part
time tinkers as we seldom have the tools to fully check out that kind
of problem.
        Art
