If there is a leak from the inspection cover.. the oil level is probably too 
high.

besides that.. pul the cover and look in and make sure the fork is attached 
to the control valve, and that the calve does move as you move the 3pt 
control.

It's only an 8-9 hour job to totally remove the top cover and drop the pump, 
cleann, regasket everything and slap it back together.. including ne 
cyl/piston.. relief valve.. etc.etc.  Parts can range from 100-200$ 
depending on if you need the piston and cyl.. or jus tthe piston.. or less 
if the piston and cyl is ok and do not leak excessively.
