Farmer , if you come across I 80 in Pa , there are several hotels at the
Clarion exit used to be old exit 9 till they renumbered and went to mileage.
Its 64 ? now . Ok so I dont pay attention to the numbers . Several places
to eat , but stay away from the Perkins . Food is so so but they are slow
!!! Better eats are in Brookville at Gilberts , or KFC . Also a couple
hotels there .
We live at the Strattenville exit ( 70 ) . Youre welcome her if you need a
break or need help . I'll send you phone # off list . It usually takes us
about 7 1/2 hrs to get to Portland by I 80 ,to 76 (akron ) ,71 south to Rt
30 w , to I 75 to Lima , across rt 33 to Celina , 29 over to 27 south to
Portland .
To get to Mass we go I 80 out to I 81North toward Scranton . There is a
Cracker Barrel at the Bloomsburg exit , ya theyre always slow but we've
eaten there any time were out that way and never spent more than 45 min in
the resturant .Also a Econolodge and a few other places. Last time we were
out that way they were having a big spurt of construction at that exit so
likely more places. The food is great and the service is too! . Pick up I
84 on over thru NY and Connecticut . I 84 gets to be a lonely road in places
out across PA , but when you get to Hartford ,Ct you'll have lots of company
on the rds . From our house up to the Mass line takes about 8 hrs or so and
youre close to Dave Cessans at the ct/ms border headin toward Springfield .
He lives a little off the beaten path , but a great guy and lots of really
neat toys if youre into dozers.
Going across 80 in Pa there are no tolls , only one will be in NY when you
cross the Hudson river .
Ivan
