Rog:

As I said in a post a short while ago I know absolutely nothing about orange
tractors -

But I did just look into Yesterdays Tractor Company site and the question of
WD serial number location had been asked three or four times so I just
copied the responses. I am sure these don't tell you anything you don't
already know but on the outside chance they might I've pasted them below.

Dudley

Response 1:
You can find the serial number on the vertical
section of the rear end directly behind the left
plate that gives you access to the brakes. It is a flat area and may be
covered with paint but it is there.
WDs starting with serial # 127007 had the curved gearshift and the
constant-mesh transmission. All 52 and 53 model WDs with serial numbers from
127007-146606 would have the curved gearshift.

Response 2:
check on the left side of the axle housing below the brake cover plate just
above the lift arm bracket

Response 3:
I HAD A HARD TIME TRYING TO FIND THE NUMBER ON MY WD AND YOU CAN'T SEE IT
BECAUSE OF THE LAYERS OF PAINT. SCRAPE THE PAINT OFF BELOW THE LEFT BRAKE
COVER PLATE JUST BELOW THE SPRING HOLE. GOOD LUCK

No, as it turned out, it was just missing the wheels front and back. Silly
Linda then wondered what the sense would be in buying a four-wheel tractor
with no wheels at all. And that from a woman who has a John Deere B, which
of course comes up short half its cylinders and pistons.
