[AJD] Opinion on magazine.....almost on topic

Bob, I bought a subscription many years ago for my father in law, he
apparently enjoys it to keep renewing it and I read it whenever I'm down
there. I think it's a great magazine.

Reminds me of a good story. Many years ago, as newlyweds, Linda and I
socialized a lot with a young couple; he worked as an entry editor for
Successful Farming. He got the unimportant tasks, one was to do the column
entitled "Around the Farm", if I recall correctly. It had Farm Show kinds
of things: readers would write in about their great ideas and he'd be
dispatched to check it out and write it up. The best part were the stories
they wouldn't let him print. One that has stuck with me was the observation
of a farmer that when they were getting to the bottom of a crib of corn on
shelling day, the rats would head out on a dead run and duck under whatever
shelter they could find. So the farmer learned to place a riding lawnmower,
deck raised just so and, of course, running, a short distance away from the
crib...Instant Ratburger!

As time goes by, I have learned that there are fewer and fewer audiences
where I can tell this story. Somehow, I doubt I've offended any
sensibilities on this list. ROFLMAO!

G’evening all,

Any of my ATIS friends subscribe to FARM SHOW magazine?
Seems to have an emphasis on everyday working tractors, equipment and shop
repair ideas.
I’m ½ considering a subscription
wouldn’t mind an opinion if’n you’re
familiar with it.

Thanks in advance,

Bob
