John,
Yes, that is what I thought but the pix of the manifold in the parts book 
shows Hercules cast in, and I think I have seen such manifolds.  As I recall 
the comment was made that no casting info was observed.  And I have not seen 
many Lycoming engines so I don't know what casting info they have.  I ran 
across the baler/Lycoming info this afternoon while sorting through some 
stuff - have you run into Lycoming engines?
