I have one of the 1 watt Luxeon Star/O LEDs set up as a flashlight.  It
makes brighter, whiter, better beam (more even) than my 2 D cell Mag light.

It would take about 15 of the "regular" T-1-3/4 LEDs to simulate one of
them.  And the rated life of the Luxeon LED is about 100 times longer.
(100,000Hrs).  

They also make 3 and 5 Watt LEDs...
